Located west of Atlantic, this large girder bridge crosses 555th Street.
Built in 1952 as part of the Atlantic Cutoff, this large bridge consists of three deck girder spans, set onto concrete substructures.
However, these girders were actually built elsewhere and moved here. The middle span was built in 1902 at an unknown location and the approach spans appear to have been built about 1899, but rebuilt and "twinned" when moved here.
It is likely that these bridges were taken from a double track or removed bridge nearby.
Girder bridges like this were common to cross small streams and rivers.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition.

The author has ranked this bridge as locally significant, due to the common design.
